What's happening at "the Patch"?
Piney Patch Quiltworks is more than just an
on-line quilt shop. In addition to providing quality quilting
products and exceptional customer service, we also teach
classes, vend at Quilt Shows, do
trunk show presentations,
and now have a club
for quilters.

Piney Patch Breakfast Club.
Since we can't sit down together over a cup of coffee and share all
of our quilting experiences in person, we try to keep our
web site up to date. Learning about the happenings at "the
Patch" is only a few clicks away. You can also share your
quilting experiences with
us on our Show & Tell
page. Just send a note and a photo to
linda@pineypatch.com.
CLASSES
"Piney Patch Hits the Road to Bring Classes to Florida Quilters"
Whether we are
beginners, still learning the basics and adding new skills and tools
to our toolbox, or more experienced quilters who are happy to pass
our
knowledge on to the next generation of quilters, we all
take classes. There's nothing better than getting
together with a group of quilters to teach, learn, share, chat and
just have a really good time.
In addition to
providing quality quilting products to quilters all over North
America, Piney Patch Quiltworks also connects with Quilters on a
more personal level by presenting Trunk Shows and Classes throughout
the state of Florida. Your Florida quilt guild can choose from
a
Trunk Show
or class listed here or
contact linda@pineypatch.com
to discuss a program designed especially for your group.
Photo Memory
Quilt
(a 40" X 40" Wall Quilt with Photos)
Have you admired quilts with photos but been afraid to try it?
Linda Thompson designed this quilt to calm your fears. It's
based on a rather simple pieced block (Road to Oklahoma) and
accentuates 4 of your favorite personal photos or composites.
Linda teaches the quilt construction in a one day class. You
can print your own photos or have Linda do them for you. This
class is suitable for the beginner with some piecing experience.
Class kits and photo fabric sheets are available from Piney Patch.
Email Linda Thompson at
linda@pineypatch.com for more information about this class.
Puzzle Pieces
(a 33" X 33" wall/table quilt)
Designed and
taught by Jeanine Gonzalez, this
quilt is truly
a joy to stitch and provides an opportunity for you to sharpen your
curved piecing skills. And, if you have never used a scalloped
border, this is the perfect chance to give it a try on a small
project. This is a one day class, geared to the experienced
quilter. Some minor cutting before class. Classes kits
are available.

"The Florida Cracker",
originally designed especially for Cracker Quilters of Citrus
County, is now being taught all over Central Florida by talented
needle artist Jeanine Gonzalez. Everyone from Beginners to
Advanced Quilters will leave class with a smile on their face and a
finished purse on their shoulder. Just check out some of our

Suwannee Valley Quilt and
Old-Time Craft Festival 2009
Many
thanks to all of you who visited our booth at the Suwannee
Valley Quilt and Old-Time Craft Festival, on Saturday, March 14,
2009. It was a beautiful sunny day in Trenton, Florida,
where hundreds of visitors strolled through the quant little
town viewing quilts of all kinds and learning about crafts from
days gone by. We were quite busy with visitors to our
booth and didn't get a chance to enjoy all the festivities first
hand, but we understand everyone had a great time. We sure
did!
Congratulations to Pat Muth of
Clearwater, Florida! She was the winner of our solid wood
folding quilt rack, handmade by Kerry Thompson, husband of Piney
Patch owner, Linda Thompson. Kerry has always been an
important part of the "Piney Patch Crew" and recently added
"woodworking skills" to the long list of his contributions to
the business. Not only does he build the folding quilt
racks, he also builds 6' quilt ladders, and makes rigid purse
bottoms for "The Florida
Cracker" purses, designed by (mother in-law) Jeanine.
Kerry's quilt racks and ladders are beautifully hand crafted and
available in various woods and finishes. For more details
about Kerry's quilt racks, please email
linda@pineypatch.com.
